The two faces of January

Patricia Highsmith uses this myth as results of her own experiences and research in polarities of characters and their moral’s nature.

The plot is about one of the faces of Chester MacFarland’s whilst being the one who awakes a father figure in Rydal Keener who has been unwillingly put at a distance from his family, by his father. The second face is of a murderous and con swindler’s.

There have been two film adaptations, one in year 1986, directed by Wolfgang Storch and Gabriel Zehra in German language and the English language version of it, in year 2014 directed and written by Hossein Amini.
