Finding Oneself anew

Ernest Hemingway was one of the "Lost Generation" of “World War I”, and had to mould his life anew after being wounded in combat as an ambulance driver, bitterly experiencing the horrors of the
“World War I” which reflect themselves in almost all his books like the: “For Whom the Bell Tolls”, which was published in 1949, just after the end of the Spanish Civil War 1936–1939.
The story is based on his own participation in and during the Spanish Civil War as a reporter for the North American Newspaper Alliance.
” Robert Jordan”, characterises “Ernest Hemingway” as this Reporter who wants to write “The American Dream”, an American who fights alongside the Spanish guerrillas for the Republicans and draws parallels to the brutality of the war.
Film adaptation of it, was produced and directed by “Sam Wood”, in year 1943.
